Living … How to turn Stress into Success
Are you listening to the Messenger?
Few people are able to perceive stress as a
positive signpost in their life. Absorbed by the tension, anxiety or fear at
the heart of the stress experience, it is not easy to see and to hear what
your stress is telling you. It is simply a messenger guiding you back to a
state of balance and health.
There are however many levels at which the
messenger will speak to you, and the skill is to listen and then know how to
act. During this four session course we will practice the skills of:
‘listening to the messenger’ and explore how to act before, during and after
the stress experience.
The workshops will be led by experienced facilitators and will include many
useful and practical techniques to transform stress into success including
meditation, creative visualization and positive thinking.
Session ONE
An Introduction: Revealing the Causes and Cures of Stress
In order to manage and prevent stress, a new understanding is required –
the what, why and how of stress.
Session TWO
Self Management: The Inside Story: Clarifying Identity and Values
Most approaches to stress management are sticking plaster remedies. We
will look at the true root causes and therefore the most effective
solutions.
Session THREE
Relationship Management: Restoring and Healing Relationships
Stress happens most in the context of our day-to-day interactions and
relationships. Stress is both a sign of damage and it does damage. How can
we start to repair that damage?
Session FOUR
Life Management: Rediscovering Meaning and Purpose
This final session will offer an opportunity to rediscover both meaning
and purpose. The course
runs one session per week, over a 4-week period, either on Friday evenings
or Saturday afternoons.
